Start your New Year with a boost!  As we begin 2022, our community is again facing a great COVID-19 challenge with the rise of omicron infections.  Giving your COVID-19 vaccine a boost is one of the most important things you can do to help yourself, your family, and your community through this latest surge.

The COVID-19 vaccines and boosters have been thoroughly tested and have been found to be safe and highly effective at preventing COVID-19 infection, reducing spread, and reducing symptoms if you do get sick.

Why Get Your COVID-19 Booster?

For Yourself

Because of the mutations in the omicron variant of COVID-19, those who have completed their initial COVID-19 vaccine series have 30% protection against being infected by the variant, but those who have received their booster are more than 70% protected against getting infected with omicron.  And those who do have a breakthrough infection have higher immunity, which can help prevent serious illness or hospitalization.

For Friends & Family

People who are vaccinated and boosted have a much stronger immune response to COVID-19 and the omicron variant.  That means that even if you do get COVID-19, you are less likely to spread the virus to others and have a lower risk of severe illness or hospitalization.

A booster provides additional protection for those we care about who are immunocompromised, unable to get vaccinated due to health reasons, and those under the age of five who can’t get vaccinated at this time.  Your booster helps protect them.

For the Community

The mission of CHAS Health is to improve the overall health of the communities we serve by expanding access to quality health and wellness services.  We are invested and committed to doing all that we can to reduce the impact of omicron on our patients, staff, and the community, but we need your help.

Getting your COVID-19 vaccine booster is one of the most important things you can do to help reduce the impact omicron has on hospitals, businesses, schools, and the community as a whole.

In addition to getting vaccinated, wearing a mask, and physical distancing, you can also help protect yourself and others from COVID-19 by washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds, covering your coughs and sneezes, and staying home when sick.
